2009 – Joe Orr – La Serna High School
Joe has taught math at La Serna High School for the past 6 years. He has coached Cross Country for 4 years and Track and Field for 3 years.
He graduated from Biola University in 2003 and earned his Masters Degree from Biola in 2008.
He was inspired to teach by his parents who are both educators and some influential teachers in high school.
At last year’s Mr. Teacher La Serna contest, he finished a close 2nd to Dan DuPont who the Rotary honored last year as a teacher of the month. Joe grew up in La Mirada and now lives in Whittier with his wife of 5 years and 7 month old son.
